Conscious Brands is founding Canadian B Corporation that helps organizations scale purpose. Our vision is Harmony*  (*a flourishing, responsiv1e and regenerative economy). We build capacity and are catalysts for companies to be the businesses the future most requires of us. For us, being a good company means when businesses thrive in harmony with the environments and the societies in which they operate. By using our higher purpose diagnostic tool, we help organizations uncover the deeper expression and understanding of purpose and values within their organization. Since 2006, we’ve helped organizations develop strategic action and foster collaborative learning through the lens of being a better company. In turn, helping transform their cultures from the top down and the bottom up. We know each organization has its own unique expression of higher purpose – that’s why we see ourselves as Sherpas, guiding each of our clients on the path best suited to their circumstances. It’s an approach guided by two distinct principles: the African proverb that says “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go further, go together,” and T. Harv Eker’s idea that “how you do anything is how you do everything.”

Our story

Conscious Brands was founded on the idea that in order to make true progress towards being a better company, it needs to be at the core of a company’s DNA. Initially, we believed carbon footprints were the gateway to helping businesses broaden their understanding of sustainability. As a result, most of Conscious Brands’ early work involved developing strategies for businesses to reduce their carbon footprints. This led to Conscious Brands being part of creating the first carbon label in North America, and its participation in the creation of Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 3.

However, over time, we realized that simply reducing carbon footprints wasn’t enough to address larger issues of sustainability in business. So we expanded our services beyond developing carbon strategies. Instead, we began helping businesses imagine themselves thriving in a sustainable society, rather than simply charting a path to zero carbon dioxide emissions.

Why we became a certified BCorp

Conscious Brands is proud to be a founding Canadian BCorp in 2010, the 5th in Canada to be exact! B Corps are a new type of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Corp certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.

We were certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. We’ve evaluated how our practices impact our employees, our community, the environment, and our customers.

Today, there are over 2,700 Certified B Corps around the globe, including many of clients such as Left Coast Naturals, MegaFood, Blush Lane/ SPUD, Nature’s Fare, and Genuine Health to name a few.
